Four More Set For “Mortal Kombat 2”

Martyn Ford (“The Machine”), Desmond Chiam (“Joy Ride”), Ana Thu Nguyen (“The Spy Who Never Dies”) and Damon Herriman (“Justified”) have all signed on for the sequel to 2021’s “Mortal Kombat” at New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.

Ford will play Shao Kahn, Chiam plays King Jerrod, Nguyen is Sindel and Herriman will be Quan Chi.

At the same time, New Line has closed deals that will see three of the biggest characters from the first installment returning including Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade and Josh Lawson as Kano.

They join fellow returnees Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion.

Also onboard are Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, and Tati Gabrielle who have major roles in the sequel which is once again being directed by Simon McQuoid.

Penned by Jeremy Slater, the sequel continues the story of a group of ragtag fighters, versed in the ways of martial arts, who defend our reality against the forces of Outworld.

McQuoid, James Wan, Todd Garner, E. Bennett Walsh and Michael Clear produce.
