Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union and Lucy Liu have all joined Jake Gyllenhaal in the voice cast of Walt Disney Animation’s “Strange World”.

A throwback to the kind of early 20th-century pulp serials and 1950s sci-fi B movies, the story follows three generations of the Clade family – legendary explorers who travel deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await.

Shoals of flying fish, walking rock columns, and octopus monsters inhabit this place – but their crucial mission is soon in danger of being toppled by familial differences.

Joining Gyllenhaal as lead character Searcher Clade is Quaid as his father Jaeger, marking both actors’ second screen outing as father-and-son following 2004’s “The Day After Tomorrow”.

Meanwhile Young-White plays Searcher’s teenage son Ethan, Union is Searcher’s wife Meridian, and Liu plays expedition chief Callisto Mal.

“Raya and the Last Dragon” duo Don Hall and Qui Nguyen co-direct the film which arrives on November 23rd.
