Jonathan Pryce (“Slow Horses”), Rosalind Chao (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), Ben Schnetzer (“Y: The Last Man”) and 10-year-old newcomer Eve Ridley (“Peppa Pig”) have all joined the sci-fi epic “Three-Body Problem” at Netflix.
The project is based on Chinese author Liu Cixin’s sci-fi trilogy which tells the story of what happens when humanity discovers that we are not alone in the universe and prepares for an alien force arriving from a distant and inhospitable world.
The new group join an expansive cast that includes Jovan Adepo, Eiza Gonzalez, Benedict Wong, Marlo Kelly, Jess Hong, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Saamer Usmani and Zine Tseng.
Former “Game of Thrones” writer-producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss will serve as showrunners alongside co-creator, writer and executive producer Alexander Woo (“True Blood,” “The Terror: Infamy”).
Rian Johnson and Rosamund Pike are among the many executive producers, as is Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. Oscar-nominated director Derek Tsang (“Better Days”) will direct multiple episodes.
