With just three episodes aired, Apple TV+ has officially renewed Skydance Television’s big-budget sci-fi series “Foundation” for a second season.
The series chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.
David S. Goyer will return as showrunner on this adaptation of author Isaac Asimov’s trilogy of novels and says in a statement the second season will see characters like Hober Mallow, General Bel Riose, and worlds like the Outer Suns realised on screen.
Goyer has previously indicated an overall goal of eight seasons to adapt the property fully. The series was reportedly quietly renewed back in November 2019 to keep production on track, but it’s only being announced now.
The ten-episode first season will wrap its run on the service on November 19th.
