As long as Harrison Ford is alive, don’t expect him to give a reboot of the “Indiana Jones” franchise his blessing.
We do know Lucasfilm and Disney are planning one more film in the saga which is targeting a July 9th 2021 release, and Ford is expected to return for that.
Speaking to the Today Show this week, the veteran actor was asked who he thinks would be a good replacement for him as the title star of the franchise. His answer was pretty succinct, direct and said with some cheek:
“Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones. Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy!… This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. I’m sorry, man.”
Pine, along with Chris Pratt, have been mentioned as potential candidates in the past to take on the hat and whip.
