Taylor Sheridan’s ever-expanding “Yellowstone” franchise scored a major coup a little while back with the casting of Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren for the lead roles in the spin-off series “1932” for the Paramount+ service.
Now, both Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios have announced that the show’s title has been changed to reflect some alterations to the story during production – what was “1932” has now become “1923”.
The shift back of nine years offers a slightly different setting but will still chronicle some hard times for the Dutton family as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness, prohibition, an epidemic of cattle theft, and Montana’s great depression which preceded the nation by nearly a decade.
Specifics of the storyline and characters have not been disclosed, but what is known is that “1923” is set to premiere this December – a month after flagship “Yellowstone” returns for a fifth season.
