Taylor Sheridan’s limited series “1923,” the Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren-led spin-off of his “Yellowstone” franchise, has scored a renewal order.
Deadline reports that 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios have given the go-ahead for another run and negotiations are underway to bring back the cast for another season.
Each season of “1923” will run eight episodes, and though the bulk of the action focuses on the construction of the sprawling Yellowstone ranch in Montana, the epic project is also shooting in South Africa, Tanzania, and Malta.
In addition, Sheridan is reportedly contemplating two separate limited series dealing with the struggle to hang onto the ranch in the 1940s and the 1960s.
This is all going on as the fifth season of “Yellowstone” is gearing up to return on November 13th and Sheridan is set to launch the Sylvester Stallone-led “Tulsa King” the same day. In addition a second season of “Mayor of Kingstown” is on the way, as are various TV series that are in development, including “6666,” “Lioness” and “The Bass Reeves Story”.
