Flanagans House Of Usher Sets First Cast
Lucasfilm & Netflix

Frank Langella, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly and Mark Hamill – all acting legends in their own right – have been announced as the main cast of Mike Flanagan’s new Netflix horror series based on Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher”.

Flanagan and Trevor Macy, the pair behind Netflix’s “The Haunting of Hill House” and “Midnight Mass,” will incorporate several iconic tales from Poe within the primary ‘Usher’ adaptation.

Langella plays Roderick Usher, the towering patriarch of the Usher dynasty. McDonnell is his twin sister Madeline and Lumbly is investigator C. Auguste Dupin. Gugino’s and Hamill’s roles are under wraps, with Hamill to play “a character surprisingly at home in the shadows.”

The limited series will run for eight episodes with Flanagan and Michael Fimognari to direct four each. Additional cast members will be announced tomorrow.
