“Flamin’ Hot” To Hit Both Hulu & Disney+

Hulu

The Eva Longoria-directed “Flamin’ Hot” will be the first ever film to premiere simultaneously on both the Disney+ and Hulu services when it launches on June 9th.

The project was originally only slated to launch on Hulu, but the move to both platforms ensures a wider viewership – especially as the film will also be made available on Disney+ internationally.

The true story-inspired tale follows Richard Montañez (Jesse Garcia, a Frito-Lay janitor who disrupted the food industry by channeling his Mexican American heritage to turn Flamin’ Hot Cheetos from a snack into a global pop culture phenomenon.

The Searchlight Pictures film just had its world premiere at SXSW where it was named the Audience Award winner in the festival’s Headliners section.

Longoria, who directed the film in her feature filmmaking debut, says in a statement:

“I’m so excited for the world to see ‘Flamin’ Hot’ on these two streaming platforms making this universal, inspirational story accessible to an even wider audience. Now everyone can celebrate the joy, power and heart of this film that also happens to uplift Latinos both in front of and behind the camera.”

Annie Gonzalez, Emilio Rivera, Dennis Haysbert, Tony Shalhoub and Matt Walsh co-star in the film.

The news was one of two big announcements today regarding Disney+ releases with the other being a four-part Ed Sheeran docuseries coming to the service on May 3rd.
