“Supergirl” and “Merlin” alum Katie McGrath, “Sons of Anarchy” actor and “Rectify” creator Ray McKinnon, Adam Shapiro, Mark Musashi, and Marina Mazepa have all joined the cast of Starz’s “John Wick” prequel series “The Continental”.
The five join the previously announced Colin Woodell, Mel Gibson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate, and Ben Robson in the series which will air as a three-night event.
The series serves as a prequel, unfolding in a gritty 1970s New York City, and follows the story of young Winston (Woodell) and how he fell into owning the hotel.
McGrath will play The Adjudicator, an agent for The High Table. Asia Kate Dillon played the present day Adjudicator in the third film. The other four are new – McKinnon portrays Jenkins, Shapiro is Lemmy, while Musahi and Mazepa will play High Table assassins Hansel & Gretel.
The series is being penned by Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward who also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee will also executive produce.
