Fisher Calls Out Whedon For “League” Behavior

Earlier this week “Justice League” actor Ray Fisher tweeted that he was “forcefully retracting” his support of Joss Whedon and his work on “Justice League”.

Whedon of course took over for Zack Snyder to finish the superhero film after Snyder had to depart shortly after principal photography wrapped due to a family tragedy. It wasn’t clear why the Cyborg playing actor made such a public statement, until today as he has gone further.

In a new post on Twitter, Fisher called out what he alleges is unprofessional behavior on the part of Whedon and producers of the film during the much-discussed reshoots:

“Joss Wheadon’s [sic] on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability>Entertainment.”

Geoff Johns and Jon Berg are both producers within Warner Bros. Pictures and DC films, Johns is also veteran comic book writer with a vast knowledge of the DC Universe while Berg is a veteran film producer of DC superhero projects. Johns stepped down as a DC Films executive in 2018.

Berg has responded to this tweet via Variety, saying it is: “categorically untrue that we enabled any unprofessional behavior… I remember [Fisher] being upset that we wanted him to say ‘Booyaa,’ which is a well known saying of Cyborg in the animated series.”

The so-called Snyder Cut, now dubbed “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” is targeting a 2021 debut on HBO Max.
