The first trailer has premiered for Wes Anderson’s “Isle of Dogs,” a return to the stop-motion animated style he pulled off to acclaimed effect with “Fantastic Mr. Fox” years ago.
The story follows twelve-year-old Atari Kobayashi, ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi, who has exiled all canine pets to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island.
Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog. “Isle of Dogs” opens March 23rd.
