Apple TV+ has released the trailer for “Smoke,” the upcoming limited series that premieres with its first two episodes on June 27th.
The project is a re-teaming of multiple key talents behind the acclaimed Apple TV+ series “Black Bird”. Once again, Taron Egerton will star in the series created by celebrated author Dennis Lehane.
The show is inspired by the truth.media podcast “Firebug” which hails from Oscar-winning documentarian Kary Antholis.
Egerton stars as enigmatic arson investigator Dave Gudsen alongside Jurnee Smollett as troubled police detective Michelle Calderone as the pair go in pursuit of a pair of serial arsonists who are behind a streak of devastating fires.
Rafe Spall, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Hannah Emily Anderson, Emmy Award nominee Anna Chlumsky, Adina Porter, Oscar nominee Greg Kinnear, and Emmy Award winner John Leguizamo also star.
Egerton also executive produces the series while the likes of Kari Skogland, Joe Chappelle, and Jim McKay directed episodes. The series will unfold weekly through August 8th.
