Finally, after months of fans calling for it and after 24 hours of micro-clip scavenger hunt madness that has both bemused some and annoyed the hell out of others, the first trailer for Sony Pictures & Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has arrived.
Marking the first publicity material from the feature to be released, the story begins four years after we last caught up with our friendly neighbourhood hero. Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his game, keeping New York City safe.
Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into a web of mystery larger than he’s ever faced before. In order to take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film, which is being helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton (“Wonder Man,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) and will see multiple villains.
Also set are Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens in cinemas on July 31st.
