Finally, after months of fans calling for it and after 24 hours of micro-clip scavenger hunt madness that has both bemused some and annoyed the hell out of others, the first trailer for Sony Pictures & Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has arrived.
Marking the first publicity material from the feature to be released, the story begins four years after we last caught up with our friendly neighbourhood hero and Peter Parker is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves.
Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film, which is being helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton (“Wonder Man,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) and will see multiple villains.
Also set are Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens in cinemas on July 31st.
