The first trailer has arrived for Ron Howard’s family drama “Hillbilly Elegy” which will come to select theaters and Netflix on November 24th.
Based on a memoir by J. D. Vance, the film stars Gabriel Basso (“Super 8,” “The Kings of Summer”) as a former Marine from southern Ohio and current Yale Law student. He is the verge of landing his dream job when a family crisis forces him to return to the home he has tried to forget.
J.D. must navigate the complex dynamics of his Appalachian family, including his volatile relationship with his addict mother Bev (Amy Adams). Fueled by memories of his whip-smart and resilient grandmother Mamaw (Glenn Close) who raised him, J.D. comes to embrace his family’s indelible imprint on his own personal journey.
