Netflix has premiered the first trailer for Rebecca Hall’s directorial debut “Passing” which premiered at Sundance Film Festival.
This adaptation of the 1929 Nella Larsen novel is set in the 1920s and follows two very different women (Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga).
While both are black, one of them ‘passes’ as white in public and live on opposite sides of the color line during the height of the Harlem Renaissance.
The childhood friends reconnect by chance one summer afternoon, their lives become more deeply intertwined and it sets off a chain of events that will change both of them forever.
Andre Holland, Bill Camp, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, and Alexander Skarsgard co-star in the film which hits select theaters on October 27th and then Netflix on November 10th.
