Warner Bros. Pictures has premiered the first trailer for the feature adaptation of “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda’s other award-winning breakthrough musical “In the Heights,” the trailer coming well ahead of the film’s opening on June 26th next year.
The story is set over the course of three days, involving characters in the largely Hispanic-American neighborhood of Washington Heights in New York City. The story mainly centers on bodega owner Usnavi who is dating a beauty salon employee and dreams of opening a bar in the Dominican Republic.
Jon M. Chu (“Crazy Rich Asians”) directs from a script by Quiara Alegría Hudes. Miranda, Anthony Bregman, Mara Jacobs, and Scott Sanders serve as producers.
