Shot back in 2017 and undergoing a troublesome production history requiring costly reshoots that were delayed until 2019, Lionsgate’s $100 million sci-fi drama “Chaos Walking” is finally on the way and the first trailer has now arrived.
An adaptation of Patrick Ness’ best-selling dystopian novel, the story is set on a dangerous world in which seemingly all women were killed years earlier by a virus that has left the remaining cretures slowly going insane as they hear each other’s thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise.
It’s here a young man (Tom Holland) comes upon a patch of silence and soon discovers the source of the silence: a mysterious woman named Viola Eade (Daisy Ridley) – the first he has ever met. As he is hunted down by the fanatical Mayor Prentiss (Mads Mikkelsen), the pair discover the secret history of their world.
Demian Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, David Oyelowo and Kurt Sutter co-star in the feature which hails from director Doug Liman (“Edge of Tomorrow,” “The Bourne Identity”) and was adapted by both Ness and Christopher Ford.
