Netflix has released the first trailer for “The Midnight Sky,” the new feature starring and directed by George Clooney.
An adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s novel “Good Morning, Midnight,” Clooney plays a scientist living in Antarctica who knows a mysterious global catastrophe has happened and he is the last man alive on Earth – that is until he finds a child named Iris (Caoilinn Springall).
He finds himself obliged to care for the girl as he also takes it upon himself to contact the crew of the NASA spaceship Aether and inform them of humanity’s demise.
Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Tiffany Boone, Kyle Chandler and Demián Bichir also star as the crew aboard the Aether who journey through space in hopes of reconnecting with a radio-silent Earth.
“The Midnight Sky” will release on the service on December 23rd.
