The first trailer has been released for the Ben Affleck-led and Robert Rodriguez-directed hyper-Hitchcock thriller “Hypnotic”. The trailer had its exclusive debut over at IGN just a few minutes ago.

Determined to find his missing daughter, Austin detective Danny Rourke (Affleck) finds himself spiralling down a rabbit hole while investigating a series of reality-bending inexplicable bank robberies.

Aided by gifted psychic Diana Cruz (Alice Braga), Rourke chases a lethal specter (William Fichtner) – the one man he believes holds the key to finding the missing girl.

He soon discovers more than he ever bargained for and will ultimately call into question his most basic assumptions about everything and everyone in his world.

JD Pardo, Dayo Okeniyi, Jeff Fahey and Jackie Earle Haley co-star in the film which Rodriguez penned alongside Racer Rodriguez and Max Borenstein.

Rodriguez screened a work-in-progress cut at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas a few weeks ago to an interesting response. Following that, the film quickly set a May 12th 2023 theatrical release via speciality label Ketchup Entertainment.

Affleck is coming off his own directorial effort “Air,” the Nike business-centric film whose reviews just gave him some career-best scores on Rotten Tomatoes. That film opens in cinemas this week.
