Amazon Prime and Legendary Television have premiered the first teaser for the eight-episode Neo-Victorian fantasy-noir series “Carnival Row” starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne.
Set in the city of Burgue, mythical creatures fleeing their war-torn homeland have gathered in the city and tensions are simmering between citizens and the growing supernatural immigrant population.
Delevingne plays faerie refugee, Bloom is a human detective named Rycroft Philostrate who rekindles a dangerous affair while investigating a string of murders that threatens to upend an uneasy peace.
David Gyasi, Karla Crome, Indira Varma and Tamzin Merchant co-star in the series which has Rene Echevarria as showrunner while Travis Beacham serves as executive producer.
“Carnival Row” will premiere on August 30th exclusively on Amazon Prime.
