The first gameplay footage has been revealed for the upcoming “Sonic Frontiers,” the first “Sonic the Hedgehog” game to feature an open-world level design.
Considered Sega’s most ambitious series entry in years, players battle enemies and explore the Starfall Islands which includes forests, waterfalls, deserts and more.
The short clip comes ahead of deeper gameplay and developer interviews coming via IGN in June. “Sonic Frontiers” is set for a release towards year’s end on all platforms.
Before that comes “Sonic Origins,” a remaster of the original five classic “Sonic” games, which will hit all platforms on June 23rd.
