The first poster for the DC Comics adaptation “Blue Beetle” has been unveiled as part of the CCXP convention in Brazil this weekend.
The one-sheet comes as the DC Universe is looking ahead to 2023 with four films on the way in the next year or so, including the “Shazam” and “Aquaman” sequels, “The Flash” and this.
“Cobra Kai” alum Xolo Maridueña stars as Jamie Reyes who gets extraordinary powers when a Blue Beetle scarab grafts itself to the base of his spine – allowing him to have a suit of extraterrestrial armor that can be modified to enhance his speed and strength, as well as create weapons, wings, and shields.
George Lopez, Susan Sarandon, Harvey Guillén, Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar and Bruna Marquezine co-star. Angel Manuel Soto (“Charm City Kings”) will helm the film, which was originally announced as an HBO Max streaming exclusive before becoming a full theatrical release on August 18th.
