First Poster: David Fincher’s “The Killer”

Netflix

Ahead of the brutal noir’s world premiere at the Venice Film Festival this week, David Fincher’s newest film “The Killer” has released its first official poster via The Fincher Analyst.

The film is based on a graphic novel by Alexis Nolent and Luc Jacamon and follows a professional assassin (Michael Fassbender) lost in a world without a moral compass. He’s alone, armed to the teeth, and slowly losing his mind as he awaits his next target.

The project marks Fassbender’s return to the screen after having not starred in a released film since “Dark Phoenix” back in 2019. He’s also got Taika Waititi’s “Next Goal Wins” coming out one week after this is released.

Fincher has been mulling over the project for around sixteen years, with filming beginning back in November 2021. Filming on the project took place in Los Angeles, Paris, New Orleans, Chicago, and the Dominican Republic.

Tilda Swinton, Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, and Sophie Charlotte also star, whilst Andrew Kevin Walker, who previously worked with Fincher on “Seven,” “The Game” and “Fight Club,” penned the script. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will handle the score.

“The Killer” is set to release in select theaters in October ahead of its Netflix streaming premiere on November 10th.
