The first photos are out from “The Tourist,” the new BBC and HBO Max series which essentially sounds like an Australian Outback-set “Duel” but with a dark comedy edge.
“Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar” and “The Fall” star Jamie Dornan as a British man who finds himself in the Australian outback being pursued by a vast tanker truck trying to drive him off the road.
An epic cat and mouse chase unfolds as he later wakes in hospital, hurt, but somehow alive with no idea who he is. With merciless figures from his past pursuing him, his search for answers propels him across the unforgiving landscape.
Also starring Damon Herriman, Danielle Macdonald, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Olafur Darri Olafsson, and Alex Dimitriades,
The six-episode series is penned by BAFTA-nominated and Emmy-winning producers and screenwriters Harry Williams and Jack Williams. Both executive produce with Christopher Aird and Andrew Benson for Two Brothers Pictures (“Fleabag”).
