Dwayne Johnson has released the first photo from the set of the “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” sequel, and third overall “Jumanji” film, which is currently in production ahead of a release around year’s end.
Following the runaway $962 million global box office success of ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ the follow-up was quickly greenlit with all the main cast returning.
Alongside Johnson are Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan in the photo with all returning as the avatars (as is Nick Jonas). Also back are Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner as the game playing teens; Rhys Darby as the game’s guide Nigel, and newcomers to the series Awkwafina, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover.
Johnson says in the post “Even though things may not be as they seem” which suggest the talk that the teens will take on different avatar bodies this time, allowing each of the main actors to play very different personalities than last time.
Jake Kasdan helms from a script by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.
