FromSoftware has announced “Shadow of the Erdtree,” the first expansion pack for last year’s Game of the Year award-winner “Elden Ring”.
Currently in development with no word on a release date, a post on the official Elden Ring Twitter account revealed the project with the tagline “Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together”.
The company says: “We hope you look forward to new adventures in the Lands Between” but has remained quiet on further details. The main game and “God of War: Ragnarok” were the only two major new releases of 2022 to score above 90/100 on Metacritic last year.
FromSoftware is known for giving various titles of theirs like “Bloodborne” and the “Dark Souls” games significant post-launch support.
The game already received an update in December which opened up the Colosseums of Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid that had been dotted around the map since release – allowing PvP battles including duels, free-for-alls and team fights.
FromSoftware meanwhile is working on “Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon” which will release on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Still, no word on the project most want to hear about – namely a PC port and PS5 remake/remaster of “Bloodborne”.
