Timed with the release of Leigh Whannell’s new take on “The Invisible Man” hitting cinemas this week, the first trailer for Nia DaCosta’s “Candyman” will arrive on Thursday.
Running 2min 31secs, it’s a longer than average teaser for the newest entry in the horror franchise, dubbed a ‘spiritual sequel’ to the original rather than a reboot. Jordan Peele produces the new take which also returns to Cabrini Green – the now-gentrified Chicago neighborhood where the legend began.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Colman Domingo and Tony Todd co-star in the film which opens June 12th.
Dare to say his name.
