HBO Max has officially picked up a new spinoff series based on Cartoon Network’s acclaimed “Adventure Time”.
“Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake” is a half-hour-long young adult animated series that will consist of ten episodes and will feature gender-swapped versions of Finn and Jake.
The story follows fearless sword-wielding adventurer, Fionna and her magical best friend and talking cat, Cake.
The characters first appeared during the original series’ third season as alternate versions of Finn and Jake and appeared in three more episodes throughout the series’ run.
The new series comes after just over three months since the third special episode “Adventure Time: Distant Lands” premiered on the streamer.
