Final Trailer: “Peter Pan and Wendy”

Disney Pictures

Disney has premiered the final official trailer for David Lowery’s “Peter Pan & Wendy” ahead of the film’s debut on the Disney+ service on April 28th. The film is going straight to the service and will not be getting a theatrical release.

This latest live-action film adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s classic 1911 novel, “Peter Pan & Wendy” is partly inspired by the studio’s own 1953 animated version of the story.

Directed by “Pete’s Dragon” and “The Green Knight” helmer Lowery, it follows a young girl who, defying her parents’ wishes to attend boarding school, travels with her two younger brothers to the magical Neverland.

There, she meets a boy who refuses to grow up, a tiny fairy and an evil pirate captain, and they soon find themselves on a thrilling and dangerous adventure. Lowery and Toby Halbrooks co-wrote the script.

Lowery has previously said his take that honors both the original book and Disney cartoon, offering a tale of emotional sincerity and one yearning for adventure.

The film stars newcomers Alexander Molony, and Milla Jovovich’s daughter Ever Anderson in the title roles. Also starring are Jude Law as Captain Hook, Molly Parker and Alan Tudyk as Mrs. and Mr. Darling, Jim Gaffigan as Smee, and Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.
