Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have premiered one final trailer for “Minions: The Rise of Gru” which is set to arrive two years after it was originally slated to open.
Brian Lynch pens the film which serves as a continuation of the 2015 feature and is set in the 1970s. The story focuses on the Minions (Pierre Coffin) during their first encounter with a 12-year-old Felonious Gru (Steve Carell) who lives in the suburbs and dreams of becoming the world’s greatest supervillain.
The voice cast also includes Taraji P. Henson, Michelle Yeoh, RZA, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews and Alan Arkin.
“Minions: The Rise of Gru” is coming to cinemas everywhere July 1st.
