Netflix has premiered the final trailer for filmmaker Guillermo del Toro’s new take on “Frankenstein” which is now in select cinemas and hits the streamer this coming Thursday.
The film is set in Eastern Europe in the 19th Century. A brilliant but egotistical scientist brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
Oscar Isaac takes on the role of Victor Frankenstein alongside Jacob Elordi as the Creature, Mia Goth as Victor’s fiance Elizabeth Lavenza, Felix Kammerer as Victor’s younger brother, Lars Mikkelsen as Captain Anderson, Christoph Waltz as Victor’s benefactor Henrich Harlander, and Charles Dance as Victor’s stern father Leopold Frankenstein.
Lauren Collins, David Bradley, Ralph Ineson, Sofia Galasso and Burn Gorman co-star. Alexandre Desplat is doing the score for the film, which is budgeted at $120 million.
This has been a passion project of del Toro’s for many years. The new trailer finally shows off a good look at Elordi’s Creature as well as some of the more tragic and romantic tone of the project.
The film is scheduled to be released in select cinemas on October 17th before releasing on Netflix on November 7th.
