“Stranger Things” co-creator Ross Duffer has confirmed the runtimes for the final four episodes of the beloved supernatural series.
The first four episodes of the season were released on November 26th, the next three will arrive this week on Christmas Day, and the finale airs on New Year’s Eve.
Today, it’s confirmed that Frank Darabont-directed fifth episode “Shock Jock” will clock in at 68 minutes, the Shawn Levy-directed sixth episode “Escape from Camazotz” will be 75 minutes, and the Duffer Brothers & Shawn Levy co-directed seventh episode “The Bridge” will come in at 66 minutes.
The finale, titled “The Rightside Up and directed by the Duffer Brothers, will be the longest episode of the season at 128 minutes.
That’s a bit of a contrast to rumours earlier in the year suggesting each episode of the season would run 1.5-2 hours. The finale, in fact, is shorter than the fourth season finale, which clocked in at 142 minutes.
The first part of the fifth season had the biggest English-language debut ever with 59.6 million views in five days.
