Filming has officially begun on the third entry in “The Equalizer” franchise, with star Denzel Washington and filmmaker Antoine Fuqua returning to their respective jobs on the new entry.
Photos of the pair, alongside actresses Dakota Fanning and Gaia Scodellaro who co-star in the film, have been released to mark the occasion of the production’s start on the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy.
The project marks a reunion of “Man on Fire” co-stars Washington and Fanning who previously worked together almost twenty years ago. Specifics of the new film’s plot are under wraps but will again follow Washington’s retired intelligence agent Robert McCall which he played in 2014 and 2018.
Richard Wenk returns as writer for the third film which is slated to hit cinemas on September 1st 2023.
