Oscar-nominated screenwriters Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson (“The Fighter”) are reportedly working on “The Patriot Way,” a scripted limited series in development about retired New England Patriot quarterback and NFL legend Tom Brady.

Deadline broke the news, saying the series is an adaptation of Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge’s bestselling 2018 novel “12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption”.

The story chronicles Brady’s improbable rise from sixth-round NFL draft pick to his half-dozen Super Bowl wins with the Patriots. It will tackle Brady’s fights with head coach Bill Belichick and the various NFL scandals during his time from Aaron Hernandez to Spygate and Deflategate.

The series takes audiences inside Gillette Stadium to explore “the thrilling, historic come-from-behind victories; the dark side of success; and building a culture of winning at all costs” according to Tamasy and Johnson.

The scribes previously adapted two other books by the same authors – “The Finest Hours” which became the Chris Pine-led film, and “Boston Strong” which became the Mark Wahlberg-led “Patriots Day”.

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (“The Maze Runner”) will produce.
