Ferguson: “Dune: Part Two” Is Superior

Warner Bros. Pictures

“Mission: Impossible” and “Doctor Sleep” alum Rebecca Ferguson has teased that Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming “Dune: Part Two” is superior to its 2021 predecessor – and that’s without having seen any of it.

Ferguson reprises her role in the new film of Lady Jessica, mother of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and the Bene Gesserit who trained Paul to harness their powers – even though he’s a man.

Jessica has a key role throughout Frank Herbert’s book, with the adaptation split into two films. She is key to helping Paul truly become Maud’Dib and help liberate the Fremen of Arrakis from the Harkonnen who have taken over the planet.

Speaking on YouTube channel Jake’s Takes whilst out promoting her new Apple TV+ series “Silo,” Ferguson says:

“I am going to say that [Dune] Part Two is better than Part One… And that’s me without me seeing it. That is me saying it based on what I’ve read, what I’ve seen, and what I’ve filmed. I think it’s going to be better.”

The first film ended at the halfway point in the novel but also got through much of the story’s exposition, allowing for a second half that can be more creative and has room to be experimental in ways the first half couldn’t.

“Dune: Part Two” arrives in November, with a first trailer expected to debut at CinemaCon next week.
