In demand writer Cat Vasko (“Fierce Kingdom,” “Queen of the Air,” “Lumberjanes”) has been hired to pen a feature centered on DC Comics hero title “Plastic Man”.
The plan is to gender swap the lead character, making this a female-led vehicle, though whether that means a title change or not is unclear.
Amanda Idoko was hired two years ago to pen a comedic action-adventure based on the character creator back in the 1940s. Vasko’s take is said to be in a new direction entirely and remains in the earliest stages of development.
The comics followed Patrick ‘Eel’ O’Brian, a crook who gets doused with a mysterious chemical during a botched heist. He awakens to find himself imbued with the power to shape-shift and stretch his body into almost anything.
The character previously had his own cartoon series.
