A first-look featurette has been released of Spyglass and Smokehouse’s adaptation of Daniel James Brown’s acclaimed 2013 non-fiction novel “The Boys in the Boat”. In addition, new photos from the film have gone online at People.
The triumphant true story follows the 1936 University of Washington men’s rowing team who competed for gold at the Berlin Olympic games.

Callum Turner, Joel Edgerton, James Wolk, Jack Mulhern, Sam Strike, Luke Slattery, Courtney Henggeler, Thomas Elms, Tom Varey, Bruce Herbelin-Earle, Wil Coban and Hadley Robinson star.
Mark L. Smith adapted the screenplay with Chris Weitz penning a previous draft. The project is being directed by George Clooney who also produces alongside Grant Heslov and Donna Gigliotti.
“The Boys in the Boat” will debut exclusively in cinemas from Christmas Day. MGM will release the film States-side whilst Warner Bros. Pictures is handling international which will rollout in the following weeks.
