Sony Pictures has announced that the Mark Wahlberg-led faith drama “Father Stu” is returning to cinemas, this time with a new name and rating.
Release in theaters back in April for Easter, the Rosalind Ross-directed true story drama has Wahlberg playing a boxer-turned-priest and earned an R rating for “language throughout”.
The re-release, now titled “Father Stu: Reborn,” is being trimmed down to a PG-13 with the new rating by the MPAA for “language, an accident scene, sexual references, some violence and smoking”.
Mel Gibson and Jacki Weaver also star in “Father Stu: Reborn” which will hit cinemas on December 9th. The original cut is currently streaming on Netflix.
