“Fast 10,” “Ambulance,” “Bullet Train” Delayed

Fast 10 Ambulance Bullet Train Delayed
Universal Pictures

The tenth main entry in Universal Pictures’ “Fast & Furious” franchise has undergone a small delay.

Originally slated for April 7th 2023, the movie has been pushed back by Universal Pictures to the more prime-time summer slot of May 19th 2023. Universal will also slot an untitled animated feature into that early April slot as a replacement.

This year’s “F9: The Fast Saga” opened in May and grossed $726 million globally – less than other entries but still easily one of the year’s biggest films.

In other delay news, Sony Pictures has delayed the David Leitch-directed Brad Pitt action movie “Bullet Train” by three months – moving it from April 8th 2022 to July 15th 2022. ‘Train’ was slated to go up against “Sonic The Hedgehog 2,” but has now gotten out of the way of that feature.

Its exit though has been Universal’s gain as the Michael Bay-directed “Ambulance,” co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, has been pushed back from February 18th to that April 8th 2022 release slot to take advantage of spring break audiences.

Sony has also pushed back the deep south-set adult drama “Where the Crawdads Sing” from June 24th 2022 to July 22nd 2022.

Finally, Briarcliff Entertainment and Open Road Films are teaming to release the Liam Neeson and Guy Pearce-led action feature “Memory” in the U.S. with plans for an April 29th 2022 release.
