There’s been numerous tributes and fan made films over the years to the legendary manga and anime title that is “Akira,” the most notable likely being the live-action The Akira Project trailer a few years back along with the Simpsons-inspired Bartkira.
This week though two online artists, Brad Kremer and Dean Fowler, have used some computer graphics on elements of the original to re-create scenes from the film in 3D with a primary focus on the iconic bikes and cityscapes of the Neo-Tokyo set tale. The pair call it a “short tribute to the masterpiece that Katsuhiro Otomo created and shared with us so many years ago” and it’s certainly a great tribute.
