FOX has handed out a two-season order for “Stewie,” a new spinoff of Seth MacFarlane’s animated juggernaut “Family Guy”.

The new series will follow Stewie, the evil genius toddler son of the Griffins, in preschool as he explores time and space. Essentially a foul-mouthed “Doctor Who” with the companions being other pre-schoolers.

The project hails from MacFarlane and 20th Television Animation and is being targeted for a premiere on FOX during the 2027-28 TV season. Episodes will then stream next day on Hulu and available internationally on Disney+.

MacFarlane’s “Family Guy” and “American Dad!” both received four-season pickups last year, with this order meaning FOX will have all five animated shows running through 2029. At that same time, FOX’s current in-season streaming pact with Hulu expires.

MacFarlane, who voices Stewie on “Family Guy,” will do the same on the eponymous spinoff series and co-created it with Kirker Butler.

The project will reportedly be in its own world and thus won’t impact Stewie on “Family Guy”.
