“Fallout” TV Series Sets April Launch

Amazon

Amazon’s Prime Video has officially set an April 12th 2024 premiere date for its highly anticipated live-action TV series adaptation of the “Fallout” video game franchise.

The news was announced in a post to Twitter to celebrate ‘Fallout Day’ with a short graphics video announcing the date.

The games unfold in a post-apocalyptic 1950s-themed United States. With each title, players take control of a different survivor trying to survive as they explore the outside American wasteland and defend themselves against the mutant creatures that now roam the Earth.

The series is not a direct adaptation or retelling of one of the acclaimed games such as “Fallout 3”. Instead, it’s a story that exists in the same world as the game but is its own thing.

The project hails from “Westworld” creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and is based on the games that began in 1997 and spawned multiple sequels. Nolan is set to direct the premiere.

Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Aaron Moten star in the series, which has Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner as showrunners.
