Fallout Series Sets Showrunners Director
Bethesda Softworks

Amazon’s planned TV series adaptation of the video game franchise “Fallout” has found its key creative team.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet (“Captain Marvel,” “Tomb Raider”) and Graham Wagner (“Portlandia,” “Silicon Valley”) are now attached to serve as co-showrunners and executive producers, while Jonathan Nolan will direct the pilot.

“Westworld” duo Nolan and Lisa Joy were announced as executive producers on the project when it was first revealed back in July last year. The pair’s Kilter films label, along with the games’ producers Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks, are all onboard alongside Amazon Studios and Lionsgate.

The story unfolds in a post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic setting in the mid-22nd century – decades after a global nuclear war. We follow dwellers in long-term nuclear shelters forced to venture out into the atomic wastes to find essential replacement equipment for the Vault.

The game series has had multiple entries to date and has been critically acclaimed since the first title back in 1997. The TV series has a commitment penalty attached which means it’s highly likely to go forward.
