Amazon Prime Video has announced that the second season of the “Fallout” TV series adaptation of the video game series has been a massive hit for the streamer as the full 90-day numbers are now in.
First-party data indicates that 83 million people worldwide watched at least some of the season during its first 13 weeks of release from its launch on December 16th through to mid-March.
That means “Fallout” Season 2 has now ranked in second place for all-time returning series on Amazon, behind only the second season of “Reacher” in 2023-24.
Season one also saw an uptick in viewing as season two was running, with the streamer saying at least 100 million people globally watched at least a few minutes from the two seasons in the period.
Amazon says in a statement that the two seasons so far mark “two of our top four biggest seasons we’ve ever launched”. Filming on the third season is slated to begin this Summer.
In the United States, the show spent nine weeks among Nielsen’s top ten original streaming series – the title switching to a weekly format which allowed for it to stay in that chart longer.
