Marvel Studios famously plans out everything far in advance. Whilst we’re aware of what’s coming from the company over the next two years or so, it’s clear Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige’s plans go beyond that.
Recently Malcolm Spellman, the head writer of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” revealed that fans would be surprised at just how many things the company actually does have in the works – and it has to be assumed that some “X-Men” projects are included in the mix.
Speaking to Murphy’s Multiverse, discussed what surprised him about the upcoming Marvel Studios slate and says: “I was surprised about how few of the upcoming Marvel movies have been announced. Fans will start to become more and more clear as these projects get announced.”
The comments come as the show’s star Anthony Mackie revealed to EW that he only found out about the new “Captain America” film reports from a grocery store clerk who had been reading the news.
The report indicates Spellman is writing that film, but Spellman himself tells ComicBook.com that: “Who said it? Did Kevin say it? I would not put faith in anything you do not hear directly from the man himself.”
Spellman also revealed that the recent series came close to having a “Captain America and the White Wolf” official title at the end of the show, but Marvel rules nixed it. He tells CBM:
“I got to see that moniker [White Wolf] in watching one of the cuts, and man, it really affected me emotionally. The reason [the closing title card] still says The Winter Soldier is solely based on Marvel feeling like they needed to keep some of the original title in there to land that feeling. I don’t think it had anything to do with where Bucky is going or how Bucky evolved.”
Disney+ will release its second “Marvel Studios Assembled” special tomorrow, this hour-long special exploring the production of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” with a behind-the-scenes look at the pasts of the characters and how the television series was made.
