Universal UK has unveiled the first poster for “28 Days Later” and “Sunshine” scribe Alex Garland’s directorial debut “Ex Machina” ahead of the film’s first trailer due out tomorrow. The one-sheet arrives at the same time as word comes that A24 has picked up the U.S. rights to the film and is planning an April 10th 2015 release.
Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, and Alicia Vikander star in the project in which a programmer (Domhnall Gleeson) at an Internet-search giant who wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company’s brilliant and reclusive CEO (Oscar Isaac).
He soon learns his real reason for being there is to evaluate the CEO’s latest experiment in artificial intelligence – Ava (Vikander) whose emotional intelligence proves more sophisticated, seductive and deceptive than either man expected.
