Evan Peters Was To Be In “White Lotus” S2

HBO

It has been revealed that “Dahmer” and “Mare of Easttown” alum Evan Peters was meant to be in the second season of HBO’s smash hit “The White Lotus”.

Series executive producer David Bernad revealed that Peters was originally set to fly to Italy and play Ethan Spiller, the tech millionaire who is married to Aubrey Plaza’s character, in the run.

Bernad tells Deadline: “That part was the last part we cast in the season, and originally it was supposed to be Evan Peters, but for whatever reason – scheduling or timing – it didn’t work out.”

Trying to find an unconventional actor for the role, Bernad stumbled upon the acclaimed UK mini-series “Giri/Haji” and its star Will Sharpe. Looking at his other work and realising his talent, they ended up securing him for the role.

In the series, Ethan is a workaholic dragged along on an awkward vacation with his wife Harper (Aubrey Plaza), and his old college buddy Cameron Sullivan (Theo James) and his wife Daphne (Meghann Fahy).

The show’s producers are currently looking ahead to an Asian-set third season. Peters meanwhile is coming off his “Dahmer” success which won him a Best Actor Golden Globe.
