“X-Men” and “American Animals” star Evan Peters will reunite with his “American Horror Story” producer Ryan Murphy for the new Netflix series “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”.
Evans will play the notorious serial killer and will be joined by “Scream Queens” and “Reno 911” alum Niecy Nash as the female lead and Dahmer’s neighbour Glenda Cleveland. Cleveland alerted the police and the FBI of Dahmer’s suspicious behaviour, but they did not listen.
Also onboard are Penelope Ann Miller (“The Relic,” “The Shadow”) and Richard Jenkins (“The Shape of Water,” “Burn After Reading”) as Dahmer’s parents. Shaun Brown will play an intended victim who escaped, whilst Colin Ford will play a guy named Chazz.
The new series will be largely told from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims, and dive into the police incompetence and apathy that allowed him to flourish. This includes dramatizations of at least ten instances when they had Dahmer red-handed but was repeatedly given a free pass by cops and judges.
Dahmer brutal killed and dismembered well over a dozen men, his actions went on for over a decade into the early 1990s. Jeremy Renner and Ross Lynch have both played Dahmer in film before. Janet Mock and Carl Frankin are attached to direct while Mock will also serve as a writer on the series. Murphy, Brennan, Franklin and Mock will executive produce
